CHAmois Mountaineering Centre
Click on Image to go to History Page Usage The CHAmois Mountaineering Centre is available for use by members, BMC affiliated clubs, CHA & HF groups, Education Authorities and other groups involved in outdoor pursuits in North Wales. The Centre is within easy reach of excellent rock climbing, mountaineering, canoeing and sailing facilities and is available for weekends or longer periods. Facilities Up to 46 beds are available for hire by groups. There are dormitories for three, four, six and eight in bunk beds, male and female washrooms with shower, washbasins and WC plus additional WCs upstairs and a disabled-access toilet and shower downstairs. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen, dining room, common room, drying room and boot room. A 'Whole Centre' booking secures exclusive use of the facilities with the exception of the washrooms which will also be used by Club members staying in 'Members only' Quarters. You need to bring personal equipment which should include a warm sleeping bag, pillow case, towel, washkit, food for your stay and equipment for your chosen activities. There is parking for 20 cars and with care coaches are able to negotiate the private access road. Smoking is not allowed in the building. Animals are not allowed in the Centre. Location The Centre is located at Ceunant in Snowdonia, Grid Reference SH532608 (10 minutes from Llanberis by car). Its situation is on the north westerly slopes of the Snowdon massif at 230m (750 ft) above sea level with fine panoramas of Angelsey and Llyn peninsula. ![]() Current Fees Non Members: £8.00 per person per night for pre-booked groups. Block Bookings: It is possible to have sole use of the main part of the centre (up to 46 beds). This costs £320 for Friday and Saturday nights, and £280 for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Booking
