Explanation: The above image shows Marchlyn Mawr from Mynydd Perfedd after an ascent of Atlantic Wall. This reservoir supplies the Dinorwig Hydro Electric Power Station that lies deep below Elidir mountain. Although it takes more electricity to refill the reservoir than the amount produced by it, Dinorwig's pumps are capable of reaching maximum output in under 16 seconds. The station can satisfy sudden demand at peak times and uses off peak electricity to pump the water back up.
