What's New 2009?

29th-31st December

Uploaded January newsletter & updated meets database. Added new photos to Wales gallery. Set up new username/password for Members area.

20th December

Set up a new web page, password protected, for committee documents.

7th December

New picture of the month, plus some additions to International gallery.

22nd November

Following AGM, updated the committee page and the related email forwarders. Created a new distribution list comprising all the committee members.

30th October

Uploaded November newsletter & updated meets database.

30th September

Uploaded minutes from September committee meeting.

18th September

New picture of the month, & pictures in England gallery.

31st August

Uploaded Sept newsletter & updated meets database.

Have finally completed the enhancement to the Meets Bookings feature so that members can see a list of who's booked as well as just the number of current vacancies. Won't be visible until Sue starts taking bookings for a future meet (probably September).
Discovered that some pages were not getting formatted properly in Firefox (front page & list of meets) so have put this right.

10th May

New picture of the month. 3 new links in Links/Accommodation & Links/Walls pages.

4th May

Uploaded the March committee minutes (amended version), and inserted new info in committee page (supplied by Jean R) showing lengths of service.

1st May

Uploaded new newsletter, plus proposed 2010 meets list. Also some new photos in the Scotland gallery, from the Easter meet.

20th April

Uploaded a set of workmeet photos to the gallery; created a new "Workmeet" category.

16th April

Uploaded the March committee minutes, linked into the committee section of the site.

5th April

Amended the CMC booking form with some changes requested by Judy.
Uploaded the new Route Card (designed by Sue), linked into the meets section of the site.
Uploaded new picture of month.

24th March

Updated the Future Meets database information for the Mayday South Wales meet with new information from Roger Brearley.

10th March

Was informed that the 2008 AGM minutes had been sent out with the March newsletter, so uploaded these to the website as well.
Redirected the help@chamois... email address to go to webmaster. (Previously it was going nowhere.)

2nd March

Made a couple of minor changes to the CMC page at request of CMC bookings sec.

1st March

Uploaded the new newsletter & all the new entries in the meets database.

January/February

(Having taken over as webmaster at the end of Nov 08, December was spent just looking at the structure, reading bits of html and Perl, trying to understand how it all works.)

2009 meets programme has been imported to website (my first venture into amending the site!)

2 latest newsletters (Nov & Jan) imported to site. Info re past & future meets extracted from the newsletters and input to the meets database.

Have corrected a number of data entry errors in the meets database. This fixed 3 apparent problems: the links from the future meets box weren't working, old pictures of the month couldn't be accessed, results of searching the meets database couldn't be accessed.

Reorganised the links & rewrote some of the text in the home page & members page. Introduced a new page "About the club" based on that in the handbook, but with some new hypertext links.

Minor changes to update the Committee & Constitution pages.

Added some new pictures to the Gallery, and pictures of the month for Jan & Feb.

Updated the username/password for the members area to their 2009 values. Also changed the passwords for the web admin & webmaster areas.

Fixed a longstanding bug in Judy's form for maintaining the CMC bookings list ("Edit an entry" didn't work properly).

Created a link from the CMC page to an "enquiry form".

Reformated the list of newsletter links in a slightly more compact form, & added links to all 2005 & 2006 issues.

Created a new facility, based closely on Judy's CMC bookings facility, for Sue to maintain a list of bookings/vacancies for Chamois meets.

Updated some of the external links in the Links page, in response to emails from various organisations.

Some minor changes to the website history pages (including creation of this one).

Updated the email distribution list for people taking newsletters via the web: the list didn't quite match that held by the membership secretary, & a number of email addresses were out of date.
